Custom Closet Systems in Jupiter, FL

Schrapper’s Fine Cabinetry has built custom closet systems in our Jupiter workshop since 1983. Every closet we install uses the same construction standards as our kitchens and bathrooms: furniture-grade plywood boxes, solid hardwood face frames, and Blum or Grass soft-close hardware on every drawer and door. Your closet is designed one-on-one with an NKBA-trained designer β€” Danya, Isabella, Kelly, Trinity, or Ewa β€” who measures your space, inventories what you’re storing, and builds the layout around how you actually use it.

Β

We build walk-in closets, reach-in closets, wardrobe walls, and dressing rooms. Configurations include adjustable shelving, double and triple hanging rods, pull-out valet rods, angled shoe shelves, velvet-lined jewelry drawers, and built-in hamper pullouts. Every component is built to your dimensions in our Jupiter shop β€” nothing is modular or off-the-shelf. Typical closet projects take 6–8 weeks from design to installation, with our own crew handling the 1–2 day install. We serve Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, West Palm Beach, andΒ 10 other communitiesΒ across Palm Beach and Martin counties.

Custom-Tailored Closet Systems

Every closet system starts with a site visit. Your designer measures the space β€” ceiling height, wall angles, door swing clearance β€” and walks through what you need to store: hanging clothes by length, folded items, shoes, bags, accessories, seasonal gear. From there, we build a 3D rendering so you see the exact layout before anything is cut.

Β

Our closets are built from the same materials as our kitchen cabinetry. Standard construction is furniture-grade plywood with your choice of finish: stain-and-lacquer over maple, cherry, white oak, walnut, or alder, or a catalyzed lacquer painted finish in any color. For budget-conscious projects, we also build in MDF with laminate surfaces. Hardware is Blum or Grass on every project β€” soft-close hinges, full-extension undermount slides rated to 75–100 lbs. These are included standard, not sold as an upgrade.

    • Walk-in and reach-in configurations with adjustable shelving on 32mm boring β€” shelves reposition in seconds as your storage needs change.”
    • “Pull-out valet rods, angled shoe shelves, velvet-lined jewelry inserts, cedar-lined seasonal storage, and full-extension drawer boxes on Blum undermount slides rated to 75 lbs.”
    • “Finish options include stain-and-lacquer over five hardwood species (maple, cherry, white oak, walnut, alder) or painted finishes in any color using our in-house catalyzed lacquer system. LED closet lighting available as an add-on.

Closet System Construction

Closet cabinets are built using mortise-and-tenon face frames joined to furniture-grade plywood boxes β€” the same construction method we use for kitchens. We do not use particleboard or MDF for structural components. Drawer boxes are solid hardwood with dovetail joints. All edges are banded, all backs are captured, and every piece is finish-sanded and sealed on all six sides to resist moisture in South Florida’s humidity.

Our 15 craftsmen build everything in our Jupiter workshop at 240 W Indiantown Rd. Nothing is outsourced. Your designer oversees the project from first measurement through installation day, so there’s one point of contact throughout.

Β

Materials We Offer:

    • Solid Hardwood & Veneers:Β Face frames, drawer fronts, and doors built from maple, cherry, white oak, walnut, or alder. Finished in-house with stain-and-lacquer or catalyzed paint. Solid wood moves with humidity β€” expect hairline cracks at joints on painted finishes in South Florida. This is normal wood behavior, not a defect.Β Learn more about wood movement β†’
    • Plywood Construction (Standard):Β All cabinet boxes are furniture-grade plywood β€” this is our standard, not an upgrade. Plywood resists warping and moisture better than particleboard or solid wood panels. Veneer or laminate face options are available. This is what we recommend for most closet projects.”
    • MDF with Laminate:Β A lower-cost option for painted or laminate-surface closets. MDF machines to a smooth, grain-free surface ideal for solid-color finishes. Be aware that MDF is more susceptible to moisture damage than plywood β€” we seal all edges and surfaces, but it’s not the best choice for closets in high-humidity areas like pool houses or garages.

What Our Clients Say

From closet projects across Palm Beach and Martin counties.

"Schrapper's built our master closet β€” the plywood construction and soft-close drawers are the same quality as the kitchen they did for us two years ago. The designer measured everything twice and the install took a day and a half. Everything fits exactly."

β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

"We compared Schrapper's to two modular closet companies. The difference is obvious β€” real wood, real dovetailed drawers, hardware that doesn't wobble. And their crew installed it, not a subcontractor. The 3D rendering was spot-on."

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about custom closet projects at Schrapper's.

Custom closet systems from Schrapper's typically start around $5,000 for a basic reach-in closet upgrade and range to $25,000 or more for a large walk-in with an island, specialty lighting, and premium hardwood finishes. The final price depends on the size of the space, materials selected (plywood with laminate vs. solid hardwood with stain-and-lacquer), and accessories like velvet-lined drawers or LED lighting. We provide a detailed, line-item quote during your design consultation so you see exactly what each component costs.

Most closet projects take 6 to 8 weeks from initial design consultation to completed installation. That breaks down to 1–2 weeks of design and 3D rendering, 3–5 weeks of fabrication in our Jupiter workshop, and 1–2 days of on-site installation by our own crew. Larger projects like full dressing rooms with islands may take 8–10 weeks. We give you a specific timeline at the design stage.

We serve 11 communities across Palm Beach and Martin counties: Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, Tequesta, Juno Beach, Hobe Sound, Palm City, Stuart, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, Boca Raton, and Delray Beach. Our showroom and workshop are at 240 W Indiantown Rd, Suite 101, Jupiter, FL 33458.

We build true custom cabinetry β€” not wire shelving or modular components assembled from a catalog. Every closet uses furniture-grade plywood boxes, solid hardwood face frames, and mortise-and-tenon joinery. Yes β€” unusual spaces are where custom cabinetry makes the biggest difference over modular systems. We work with angled walls, low ceilings, knee walls, and odd alcoves that off-the-shelf systems can't handle. Our designers use 3D rendering software to test layouts before cutting any material, so you see exactly how the space works. Techniques like vertical stacking, pull-out accessories, and adjustable shelving help maximize every inch.
