What materials do you use for your custom cabinets?

We build cabinet boxes from furniture-grade plywood — not particleboard or MDF — with solid hardwood face frames. For door and drawer fronts, we work with a range of North American hardwoods including maple, cherry, white oak, walnut, and alder. We also build with marine-grade plywood for outdoor kitchen cabinetry since standard plywood won't hold up to South Florida's humidity and salt air. Every project gets soft-close hinges and full-extension drawer slides as standard — not upgrades.

How much do custom cabinets cost?

Custom kitchen cabinetry at Schrapper's typically starts around $30,000 for a modest-sized kitchen. Full kitchen remodels with larger layouts, specialty storage, and premium wood species can range from $50,000 to $100,000 or more. What is your design-to-installation process?

Our process has five steps: (1) We start with a design consultation at our Jupiter showroom or your home to understand your space, how you use it, and what you're hoping to achieve. (2) Our design team creates a draft layout with 3D renderings. (3) We take precise field measurements of your space. (4) You review the finalized design, select materials and hardware, and approve the build plan. (5) Our shop builds your cabinetry and our installation crew fits everything on-site. The whole process is collaborative — you'll see drawings and material samples before we cut a single board.

Do you offer financing for custom cabinetry projects?

Yes. We offer financing options through third-party lenders to help make custom cabinetry more accessible. Terms and qualification details vary, so we recommend discussing financing during your initial consultation. We can also phase larger projects — for example, doing the kitchen first and the bathrooms later — to spread costs across a longer timeline.

Can you match existing cabinetry or woodwork in my home?

In most cases, yes. Our finishers are experienced at color-matching stains and paints to blend new cabinetry with existing woodwork. We'll bring samples and do test finishes to get the match right before committing. That said, we're upfront about the limits — a 20-year-old cherry stain that has aged and oxidized won't be an exact match on day one, but we can get very close and the tones will converge over time as the new wood patinas.

Our shop is in Jupiter, FL, and we serve homes throughout Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast. That includes Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, Tequesta, Juno Beach, Hobe Sound, Palm City, Stuart, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, Boca Raton, and Delray Beach. All cabinetry is built in our Jupiter workshop and installed by our own crew — we don't subcontract installation.

Keith Levine founded Schrapper’s Fine Cabinetry in Jupiter, Florida in 1983. Forty-two years later, the company still builds every cabinet in the same Jupiter workshop — furniture-grade plywood boxes, solid hardwood face frames, and mortise-and-tenon joinery. No particleboard or MDF, anywhere. Today the shop employs 15 craftsmen and a five-person design team, all trained through the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA). Expertise — Five NKBA-trained designers — Danya, Isabella, Kelly, Trinity, and Ewa — handle every project from first measurement through installation punch-list. They spec materials, draw elevations in cabinet-detail software, and coordinate directly with the shop floor. The 15-person build crew works exclusively on Schrapper’s projects — no subcontracted labor, no outside installers.

Materials & Sourcing — The shop stocks five domestic hardwoods — maple, cherry, white oak, walnut, and alder — and sources furniture-grade plywood for every cabinet box. Hardware is standardized on Blum and Grass: soft-close hinges, full-extension undermount drawer slides rated for 75–100 lbs, included on every project as standard, not an upgrade. All finishes — stain-and-lacquer and painted — are applied in-house using a catalyzed lacquer system for painted cabinets.
